I think what pulls me to Kentucky is that it's an album that absolutely could NOT have come from anywhere else in the world. It's a solidly American work, even if it's overly ambitious and not as cohesive as it needs to be to stand up to other records.

Yeah, did you read his interview with Decibel from a month and a half ago? He talked about that (plus where he got a lot of the inspiration for this album). Their description says their brewing style is influenced by celtic and nordic cultures so he must really be putting those experiences to work.

edit: Negator, hit up Collapse as well.

Not necessarily a lot more but there's more interludes and more sections, as Kyle noted Roads is a bit more varied in that department.

@Essence: I actually didn't but I remember all the information you just noted, I just don't know where I got it from.

The sound is very muffled, isn't it? Not that it is necessarily a bad thing

Idk, what specifically?

I don't hear this sounding particularly "muffled". Not on my Teufel system at least.

I'm still conflicted as to whether I prefer this over Roads.

Roads has got some nostalgic kinda shit going on for me. Reminds me of the times I was introduced to metal and the fucker who did it.

And this a pretty damn cohesive album with some good atmosphere n shit.
