Interview with Nate about the breakup
Seems the label insisted on a producer for Finch, and Nate wasn't having it.

Yeah, the songs Nate put up are really great. I would've loved to see that album released properly. Much, much better than the disappointment that was Oblivion.

this is dope, and everything I’ve heard from the world of violence sessions and the demos from two years ago are even better. wish this band was able to get their shit together, but it looks like even if that happens it’ll only last for like 3 years tops

Still think this is the most underrated PHC album of all time. Really great stuff here.

It's definitely one of my favourite albums of all time. The guitar-work, vocals and lyrics are top-notch. So bizarre that some of the band members made this, then went 'NAHHH, this isn't good'...

Phantasm comes closest, but still not on this level.

I'm finally gonna listen to that, I'm just a bit anxious it won't live up to World Of Violence demos which were awesome. Calamity At Sea is one of the best songs ever.

Dude Calamity at Sea slams! By far my favorite post Sunshine Finch song

Hm, after listening to the Word of Violence demos, I think they may be actually closer to Sunshine than Phantasma. The latter kind of feels like the missing link between Burn and Sunshine. It's a bit heavier, more immediately catchy, and definitely not as dark (instrumentally) as Violence or Sunshine.
Edit: When listening to Phantasma, disregard the last 2 songs and just let the album end with the title track. These songs were influenced by the producer that Nate didn't like and they are horribly plain and dull in my opinion, just like that new Speak The Truth's album (Finch members with Senses Fail vocalist).

I totally forgot to upload it to my phone before work so I haven't listened to it yet. My expectations are pretty low but I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Back To Oblivion was so fucking bland.

"Back To Oblivion was so fucking bland."
Yes, it was. Phantasma is in another league entirely. I don't know what were they thinking with Oblivion, when they can clearly write much more interesting music.

Finally listened to Phantasma, now I just need to relisten to BTO because I can't remember a single second of that record for the life of me.

Oh shit just remembered I found this at a thrift store a few months ago and never jammed it, will get on that tomorrow.

Ha, the only reason I know about this band is the owner of a really cool thrift store (RIP Dave) gave me this album for free after I bought a bunch of Opeth and Beatles Records. I expected it to be crap, but it turned out to be the best free CD I ever received, seriously one of the most special and timeless albums I've ever experienced. Be sure to report back Kompys.

I remember first hearing a snippet from Letters to You while browsing through Last.fm for new music. And I heard Ink while playing Burnout Revenge sometime later.
