"But you didn't buy it"

Yeah and I never will. You think if I buy it I'd like this? Not likely. Still, it was better than Relapse.

I think if you keep listening you'll like it cuz it's nothing but bars

That's what I figured out on like my 6th listen, and by then the hooks aren't even that bad, typical eminem shit imo

Woulda never spun it that many times if I hadn't bought it, is my point

That is a ridiculous thing to stand by. I've bought many albums that still fucking blow, regardless if I paid money for it or not or how many times I've listened to them.

Yo Lambs, this is not me trying to derail your point, but about lyricism in 90s rap. I mean, you regard pretty much all of it as shit, but the Memphis-scene in the 90s was HUGELY influential, and these guys weren't exactly what you would call amazing lyricists. They were just good at really gritty realism and portrayals of mentally broken people.

Three 6 Mafia, Lil Ugly Mane and consorts. I think you called them something like stupid occult, satan worship bullshit once.

666 Mafia are satanists, no? I was exagurating they have talent, people in my highschool just overplayed the shit out of em and I don't like em.

I've never really even heard lil ugly mane but from what I recall after on spin of one of his albums, he was trash.

I'm not really sure what you are getting at? You want me to listen to them more because I'm wrong about them?

No, I wasn't trying to convince you about anything. I just wanted to say that there was highly influential hip-hop in the 90s that wasn't exactly what you would call lyrical. That's all. I just thought your statement about lyricism in 90s rap was a bit too broad.

They are still way more lyrical than kanye and similar modern mainstream artists though

I mean do you really think the 90s forte of rap wasn't lyrics? I don't think the A few influential artists in the 90s that weren't lyricists contradicts my view
