Yeah I heard the whole thing Firedust. There's only a low quality rip floating around right now as far as I know. There's a few bangers in the second half but the overall shift in direction feels really off.

It's been up on Spotify for a few hours to my knowledge. I didn't mind it, felt like just another Unearth album. But I've never been the biggest fan of them anyway, so I just gave it the rating I gave all the others aside from a couple.

Im just glad they didnt go the route of every other metalcore band of their ilk and start playing radio metal. Darkness In the Light was worrying, but instead of going further down that road, they got heavier. Too many bands do the opposite.

i mean in some bands' cases (BFMV namely) it kinda makes sense considering they legit had interviews where they said it was a case of sounding honest more than heavy.

I wanna hear the new album but tbh if Trevor sounds as horrible as he does on the singles then no thanks. His vocal technique is ass on those songs I've heard. Cant imagine hearing a full album of those forced struggle yells.

@Jeet: He sounds exactly as "horrible" as he did on The March, so

I still think this has his worst vocals by far, although I haven't heard anything from the new one

i think the problem on Extinction(s) is that hes trying to do a more guttural style, and it actually sounds pretty good in parts, but really bad in others.

i like his delivery on Watchers of Rule actually.

update on my jam: Incinerate and Survivalist have grown on me a bit, but theyre still only like 3/5. Dust was actually really awesome. halfway through Cultivation of Infection and its somewhere in between a 3 and 3.5.

I'm just not really a fan of his vocals in general so I can't hear much of a difference.

wow, im not usually one to go on about breakdowns, but the one in Hard Lined Downfall fucking crushes. i dont think theyve ever sounded that heavy before.

probably not gonna have time to listen to this in full for a few day’s because I’m staying at the gf’s house, but Unearth is one of my favorite bands so if this sucks I will be crushed. Predicting around a 3.5 considering the singles.

Weird. Eyes of Fire has always been pretty clearly the best for me.
