Beat's grown on me and recently become one of my favourites. I'm not sure it's strictly trip-hop though thinking about it.

supposedly it's shoegaze+trip hop with some ambient/drone ! that description alone suggests i should love it.

I think the mix of genres works well. Their album Lushlife is simply trip-hop and it's pretty dull in comparison.

Yeah Mezz, Dummy and Endtroducing are the biggest, Maxinquaye is probably up there too
