Captain Murphy certainly sounds a lot like Tyler, tho I personally prefer him solely because I like FlyLo as a person way better- for what it's worth. Neither are anything too special from a technical standpoint, but I do like that Ellison utilizes his voice for more original and dynamic music- that's what I see in his sound, in Murphy's sound, that I can get behind.

I have no problem with Captain Murphy as a side project, I just don't like the idea of blurring the two identities together

If he had sprinkled hits evenly throughout according to their style it would feel so concrete and forced;

It's not so much that I feel as if that middle stretch needs that "one big track", and I get that the structure of the album isn't random happenstance and is somehwat adhering to the theme(s) of the the album; thematically it all links together. I just personally don't enjoy the big build-up and subsequent payoff, then random noodling and ideas for twenty minutes after, only to then come back together for another conceptual soundoff. I feel like there's this gaping hole right in the middle of the album, where Flylo tries desperately to find the sound and/or identity for the second half of the album

Its moments like in the beginning of yourpotential/thebeyond that remind me why FlyLo is extraordinary. Another example of his majestic hold on this strange aura of soothing vibes is Only if You Wanna.
