The vocals on Warm Foothills are so awesome. Beautiful song.

Considering how polarising this album is, there are loads of people who'd agree with you, Puddles

Yeah and basically that too
Opinions are split pretty evenly

In my soundoff for their first album, I did say that I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up making one of my favorite albums of the decade. I'll remain and say it just might be their next one. This just folds in on itself, IMO.

Well at least they didn't make the same album twice. You can pretty much guarantee yourself the next one will be very different too, and isn't that enough to give you hope?

It is, as long as it doesn't mean that the first album was nothing more than an interesting new gimmick using hip sounds and then followed by an album that shows how empty the band truly is when they're forced to make something substantial. Then, yeah, some hope.

how many times are you going to reiterate that you don't like this

That's pretty amazing but my two favorites are still the vocal harmonizing in Warm Foothills and the chorus to The Gospel of John Hurt

This album is a hard one to rate. There is some absolutely brilliant stuff on here but there's also some pretty boring parts aswell. It's cool that they've developed their sound and didn't just take the easy road and make another 'An Awesome Wave' but AAW is just a lot more fun than this.

Agreed. I thought a 3 was a fair rating considering how inconsistent it is.
This requires a bit more patience though, unlike AAW, which was very immediate. I'm hoping that this will grow in a couple of months time or something

aaw was not immediate at all on first listen there was only 1 good song
