I'm just a bit confused as to what your point actually is death but don't mind me

I'm not attacking U2 for releasing free music. I'm attacking Apple for shoving it down people's throats. Yes, I know you can
delete the album, but their action brings up some strange privacy questions, and we now know that they aren't afraid to get all
up in our personal space. Companies shouldn't whip their dick around like that IMO.

This whole argument is fucking ridiculous and tiresome. There was no infringement of privacy whatsoever with people getting this album for free.
When people have the iTunes option "AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD PURCHASES" checked, that's exactly what happens. You download your purchases automatically. And since everyone that just randomly found it in their library DID have that option checked, they got the album without knowing. I myself had to download the album because I didn't have that option checked. It's not like Apple hacked into everyone's account and just secretly placed the album there.
People talking about invasion of privacy. Give me a break. You sign your rights away every time you click "I ACCEPT" on the end user license agreement. Apple's doing far shadier shit than handing you a free U2 album, and they have every right to do so when you agree to use the program on their terms.
A few years ago, people caused a stink when U2 was against free downloading of their music. Now here they are giving people their newest for free, and people bitch and complain. The irony.

I think that's what he's saying is the problem, if they're willing to do this who knows what else they're doing without even telling
us.

If they're willing to give us a free album!? lol. woe is us. what is the world coming to.
|

I wouldn't worry about the album they made available for free, that should be the least of everyone's concerns.

That's exactly what I said, the other stuff they're doing is what's concerning.

I can see how people would find this invasive, but I had all my automatic downloads and iCloud stuff off so I actually had to manually download the album to have it.
This is definitely more enjoyable than No Line on the Horizon, but they're about the same rating because both have some great songs and also some weird ones that don't quite come together successfully as whole albums. That and their new stuff always sounds a bit bland and uninspired compared to their early albums, the first four songs on this are great though.

All those insta 1's.
California seems to be almost universally hated on the u2-fan forums for some reason.... i for one
think it's one of the strongest songs on the album.

"California" is awesome. The real stinker on this one is obviously "Iris".

"Maybe you should just delete the album from your player and stop complaining about it"
Actually you can't. And you can't hide it either. It's just 100MB that your phone will never have.

This grew on me hard, had to bump my rating from a 3 to a 4 and might write a review. I really like or love every song on here and I love how catchy and enjoyable it is.
