Yea most of the hype came way before it was released haha. The ratings will still get into the thousands pretty quickly though.

Meh. I still dig it, but I agree with most of the criticisms that it and Heritage have received.

It's still a hell of a lot better than Steven Wilson's solo material imo.

Raven is a lot more engaging as a "70s record" than this for me. Maybe that's just the steve wilson/PT bias in me talking though who knows? haha

Couldn't agree with Beef more. Raven felt really tight, which was nice at times but it was just so boring in the end, especially SW vocals.

I couldn't disagree more, but what the hell ;)

For me Raven was all about Wilson interpreting his 70s prog influences in a modern way. And I perfectly

agree with most of you saying it sounds a lot a classic prog bands, but the overall atmosphere and feel is

definitely modern. And, anyways, it is so well made, beautifully crafted that you forget about that. And

while Wilson's influences are more prominent on it, it's not like he's copying any band, it's definitely a

thing in its own. Only weaker point on it would be The Holy Drinker which almost falls into the boredom

territory for me. Anyways, that's only my opinion of course, you're perfectly entitled to yours.

The problem I had for it is that it didn't bring anything new to what we already know. Sure, it was a well crafted modern take on 70s prog, but I feel the modern influences could have been far more apparent

haha this cracked the top 100 prog albums on progarchives. It'll surely be off soon, but I guess it pleases the prog community.

Great album but I'd say it's a grower. If you hate it now just give it another listen further down the line.
