"what a shame. literally 2% of christian metal doesn't suck."
Painfully untrue.

I grew up listening to their older albums so I can't really hate them, but I can't get behind this crap anymore.

Their first three are pretty fun

All the way from Phenomenon to Welcome To the Masquerade I like. Rest is hit or miss, or just crap just as most of this.

End Is Where We Begin is fine too. But this album is just terrible

This album gets a little too much hate, but at the same time I understand.
I mean I dunno, Untraveled Road is fun. Set Me on Fire is pleasant. Born This Way is good. I like I See Red too.
My main beef with this is that its too short and has no consistency. Really doesn't feel very fleshed out. Oh yeah, writing could be better too, In My Room is way too on the nose.

Noooo this is not good lol

Never said it was. I don't like how this site lists 3/5 as "good". This is a very lukewarm album.

Well on a scale of 10 a 3 is a 6/10, slightly above average. I see a 3 as a pleasant but middling and unremarkable album, which this definitely isn't imo.

I think 6/10 is fair for this. Like I said, it has SOME good qualities. I dunno, I enjoy myself just fine on certain tracks. There isn't anything blatantly awful here save some corny writing and songs that weren't super thought out.
I do have a soft spot for the album so I'm open to admit it may very well partially be nostalgia, but at the same time I've definitely heard worse.

Hey that's fair! I still have a big soft spot for Welcome To The Masquerade, considering it was album that got me into heavier music at the time.

Oh yeah. This album and The End/Begin are my first experience to these guys. These are some of my first introductions to metal too. I took those two albums on many long car rides, and even hiked a mountain with them.
It kinda sucks that I grew apathetic towards their discography in recent years, but End/Begin is still pretty solid, Phenomenon is better than I remember and Flame is MUCH better than I remember.
Its too bad, I think these guys might be done considering that haven't made anything for three years. They had talent, too.
