I can hear the Modern Age comp, but I think Hearing Voices is a much better song. Modern Age is awesome but I always felt like the chorus lacked a bit of its impact because of the vocal effects and the way Stephen sings where his voice sorts of trails off. Hearing Voices doesn't have that at all.

@SS, damn I didn't realize you had NTFP so low. Granted it's relative to their other albums

I still like the NTFP version of feel good drag better than most anberlin songs though

Yeah I'd agree with all that toxin, I just meant sonically it has a similar style and function to Modern Age, being the last big "anthem" track on the album before a slow-burn closer.

Yeah, that's a good point. I didn't realize its similarity in track placement. I guess most Anberlin albums are structurally pretty similar though. Soft Skeletons is also a soft-ish, anthemic penultimate song, and you could make the case for Dismantle and Audrey! as well.

Began my write up for this finally. Man do I have some stuff to say about Atonement. Also am I the only one who REALLY loves Harbinger too?

Not as epic as Fin of course but it's a really passionate song to close out their career imo

IMO they are pretty pedestrian lyrics compared to the rest of the album

But to each his own

I think sputnik has ambiguously decided that this is a 4, even if the average is 3.8
