Not trying to offend but whenever I listen to hardcore it feels empty and a bit shallow. Three I can think of right now are Botch, Dillinger and this band. Tons of cool riffs but maybe too straightforward to keep me interested. I love Converge though.

yeh theres a difference between going into a thread once to ask "hey does this band not blow dicks anymore cause then i might listen" and going into a thread for an album that you have heard and dislike on a weekly basis just to say "lol albums dicks bros" for like 3 months
i was mainly asking bc that avg but i guess sput does that with everything so whatever

This album needed more thought. It sounds as if it is too "misty" for an album this heavy. As if someone peeled the skin off a Botch album and pressed it into service. There are a few well though out songs i.e. "Moor" and "Old Light". They need to "get their weight up" with thematic content next time. Like Botch, or the best ever of like genre, "Breach".

I touched up some the next day and Kurt actually decided to keep a few of the “shaky” vocals from Overstayer because he said they sounded weird and he liked weird. I know exactly which lines from that first night were kept and I cringe when I hear it.
Ye, those 'weird' and strained vox sound sweet on that track.
