Slavestate really deserves a review. It's as good as Pure, and frankly I think it its rave oriented approach had a lot of potential that I'm sad they never truly realized. 1991 was a monster year for the Godflesh lads.

Checking this for the first time and the production is so frustrating. There’s like, no low end whatsoever. Everything is so shrill and clicky. Why?

With my personal EQ, it sounds great, but listening to it flat, I get what you mean. Benny's bass is as good as ever, but it feels like they dropped the low end in the master a lot.
