You're probably right hahaha. Just a lot of life changing moments happening and I probably connect the vastness of the songs with it. Everyone has these albums in their life and I didn't exactly go into this with any expectations of any sort.

Should have reworded it as "not going to describe the music into minute detail because it would do my opinion no justice".

I'm with ya Wiz.
I like Insomnium in the same way.

And I could never fault you for that even though I think Insomnium are just straight-up the most boring melo-death band in the world jk hahaha. Sometimes albums just strike a personal chord and you don't need rhyme nor reason to justify its greatness.

there honestly isn't a single song on this i like from start to finish
the astral dialogue comes close i suppose

Dark Matters God is so underrated. I hated it on first listen but it grew on me like a motherfucker. It's a shame the album pretty much tails off after that song.

I'm 4 minutes into The Birth and Death... and am already enjoying it to the degree that I'm unsure I'm hearing the same thing that everyone else here has heard

^haha i know the feeling. the first 3 tracks are prolly my favorite plus celestial effigy

Hmm I'm liking Birth, Astral, Celestial and Vales the most atm; good album, but not as great as what they've done before. It might grow though, in which case it could top Pale Folklore

This is good, but it will never top the first 3 albums. Maybe Marrow with time, but not the first 3.

To me this album is like a tofu Twinkie; Bland and boring at the start and finish, but the middle really has some good stuff
Well, that sounded really fucking stupid

I find it an enjoyable album. One of those albums which best listened to when you're doing something else. When the better moments of the album come, you can listen to them. Otherwise, you can just focus on whatever you're doing. This works well for many albums for me.

"One of those albums which best listened to when you're doing something else."
It's the opposite for me, when I listen to this while doing other things, I get the impression that it's a really boring record. When I do nothing but listen to it, it seems like it's a lot better.

I understand what you're saying. I forgot to say, though, what I said pretty much applies only when you're not THAT into the album, you know, like, to me it's only a "3"/okay album. If you really like it, the results should be the other around.
Edit: wait I actually gave it 3.5... I guess I just really like these guys. Ugh it's so hard to be objective sometimes.
