Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say

Chained to all the places that he never wished to stay

Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say

As he faced the sun he cast no shadow...

Sung about Richard Ashcroft. I'd have gone for.

He's lanky, He's Northern

Most of his songs are forgotten

As he faced the sun his shadow looked like a streak of piss.

Am I the only person who loves the cruddy brickwalled sound of the album?

@zakalwe - honestly, your version fits these guys much better. When they try & sound poetic it's just cringe-worthy.

Love this album so much. Some Might Say through the t/t is probably my favorite run of tracks on here, but there are so many gems throughout like Roll with It plus the obvious hits.

The game is kicking off in around the park

It's twenty five a side and before it's dark

There's gonna be a loser

And you know the next goal wins

Cab it to the front as it's called a draw

Everybody's knockin at yours once more

Ernie bangs the sound

And no one's spoken since half past four

Round are way the birds are singing

Round are way the sun shines bright

Round are way the birds are minging

Round are way it's alright

Round are way the birds sing for you

'cause the already know yer

They already know yer

90s >

Social no media

Crying all the time. With laughter

Arms around mates, hands exploring birds.

All spirit, all feeling, no consequence.

Sunday dinner, family and conversation.

Emotions as a group. Experience shared, individual restraint.

Loyalty, credit earned.

The run down towns and cities which were ours, our home.

No franchise, no compromise, the night out, the world for the taking.

I like Hey Now!, it sort of reminds me of Columbia with that long ass outro that keeps building up

Underneath was my last addition there. it's the weakest of those songs for sure but I had too few Liam songs/bangers in the mix. It's got a killer chorus anyways

i would like to have as much liam on any oasis album as possible but imo underneath the sky is just not on par with the rest of the tracks

also i might take she's electric over cast no shadow. CNS is a little cliche for me in comparison to she's electric + the groove is typical alan white bullshit whereas she's electric has a pretty unique rhythm amongst oasis songs + she's electric has that fuckin falsetto yo

also i think headshrinker over fade away cuz fade away is a def maybe b-side + fade away is probably the better song but headshrinker just brings the fuckin madness son

also i know wonderwall is overplayed but imo it's still fuckin great and needs to be on the album

also the you've got to hide yr love and cum on feel tha noize covers are fuckin glorious; i'd probably stick em on as bonus tracks

so my hypothetical tracklist would be

Acquiesce
Roll With It
Talk Tonight
Don't Look Back in Anger
Morning Glory
The Masterplan
(maybe Bonehead's Bank Holiday here)
Some Might Say
She's Electric
Wonderwall
Rockin Chair
Headshrinker
Step Out
Champagne Supernova
---------------------
Cum on Feel the Noize
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

which is obviously based closely on the original tracklist but i think they were onto something there. also worth noting that the album IRL would never be that long. put together the playlist in my itunes and my tracklist is just over an hour even without the bonus tracks and taking into account the subtraction of bonehead's bank holiday ending

Cast No Shadow is, some days, my favourite tune Noel ever wrote so no way. She's Electric is underrated but it's also clearly a filler song, and it's just too whimsical for my final tracklist which ended up being fairly serious

On Morning Glory I have the War child version of Fade Away, the one with Noel on vocals. The other version would also easily make my Def Maybe playlist, both of them are some of the best Oasis tunes, but War child Fade Away was recorded in 1995

I have a live version of Wonderwall in the Ryan Adams style on the Masterplan, that's it. Original version has no fuckin place on any good album

the original version of this album would've been 53 minutes, before Step Out got cut last minute for legal reasons. I'm not super bothered by an extra seven minutes, that's under what the Japanese version of DM added to the normal runtime fwiw
