I really don't know Cusman. My rating is also of 4.0. Anyway, this is another amazing album of Porcupine Tree, as usual.

I've given a 4.0 to seven of the ten PT studio albums, they are the archetype of a 4.0 band

I don't completely agree with you SirLord. For me, they're a more diverse band in terms of ratings. In seven PT albums I gave 5.0 to two, 4.5 to two, 4.0 to two and 3.5 to one.

Yeah, I admit that. When I have rated all of their albums, and it still miss to me, at least their first four studio albums, their live albums and some EP's, probably 4.0 is the final average of PT.

Most of mine are 4's too, but imo 4 is a brilliant vote. If a band is "the archetype of a 4.0 band" this for me means that the band is gigantic.

Of course it is, hence "excellent".

Russia On Ice is still one of the best songs Stevie boy has ever made

"Russia On Ice" and "Hatesong" are both among the best Porcupine Tree songs.

The self titled song is a 15/10. Fantastic and the atmosphere it creates is remarkable

Perfectly captures that feeling of being in primary school and staying off because you're sick, the song sounds grand but at its heart it's pretty innocent.

Hatesong's bass is orgasmic.

A pop rock band from my country here stole almost entirely that opening guitar riff from The Rest Will Flow. They could use some better taste lol.

That solo in the second half of shesmovedon is too good man.

This contains many of their strongest songs of that era, yet as a whole it never satisfied me half as much as did Stupid Dream and Signify (which I tend to associate with these, in terms of form at least)

Pretty much my thoughts. It has its moments and very weak ones.

This and Stupid Dream are easily the best Porcupine Tree records
