I've only heard the first album and this so far. But yeah vox seem to be better on earlier albums just judging from the two.
Don't think they're awful here though like a lot of people seem to.

This album is really good. I didn't really give it a chance when it came out but over the years it has grown on me. Easily their best and most consistent album imo. And that "south of the city" song they released last year, I think their next album could be even better.
