I don't if it's the fact that I'm listening to this through laptop speakers because I don't have my headphones on me but I'm really bothered by his voice this time.

Despite my original concerns, I'm happy to say that the lyrics fit beautifully with the music

It feels a lot like flipping through an old scrapbook

I love the music of the new song but I guess I've gotten too old to appreciate his voice.

25, but I was being facetious.

It's mostly just hit or mis, concerning his voice. He sometimes overdoes it.

ok. im 24 and really like his singing here but in general i agree he is quite inconsistent. what it takes to move forward had pitch-perfect soft singing mixed in with dissonant wails. then the EPs after that got rid of the wails but made the general soft singing more dissonant. this song has moments where it sounds a little forced i agree but generally its really nice.

I find my favorite bands usually have vocalists that sing in the higher registers, so I don't really get annoyed or put off by bands with high vocals.

Except for Pierce the Veil, that dudes voice annoys the shit out of me. It sounds so forced and strained.

I agree, he should utilize his softer singing voice more like he did on this album. It really added that extra beauty to the songs

Yeah I'm not saying he should sing exclusively soft, but it'd be nice to hear those dynamics again

The "Remember the flowers you picked" bit in How to Make Love Stay is my favorite lyric on any album of theirs.
