Well Nickelodeon did order a 4th season. And also I think the back to back episodes thing is to prevent leaks, though the ratings issue is part of the reason.

I feel like nothing too epic has happened yet so far but something immensely grand and huge is going to happen later on.

^Same thing happened with season two; started off kinda slow and picked up pretty quick.

I still love it just as much as the past season though, I just love the world the writers created.

End of season 2 seemed cheesy and really forced at times, hoping this one brings it back to the streamlined realism that was season 1, but unlikely. They'll probably keep ramping up the stakes as much as possible

I loved season 2 a lot. Especially the first avatar story.

Season 2 felt really rushed in the middle (though the first Avatar story was great) but the beginning and ending was pretty good.

Yea the first avatar story was so powerful. It really have lots of other shows a run for their money IMO

i liked season 2 but the first half was legitimately a bad show, and the ending was a little contrived for me. i liked beginnings and onwards, and i liked the ending immediately after, but in retrospect it wasn't a satisfying season. unalaq/vaatu were the worst villains of the series by far, vaatu was a generic villain who really didn't help the show's mythology (there's really a good/evil dynamic with raava/vaatu that i disliked because it's western morality. eastern morality tends to be more subtle than that), and unalaq never made much sense as a villain in terms of motives. also in general i don't like how they've treated the spirit world, they really anthropomorphized them, and it takes away from their spirituality imo



anyways in terms of season 3, they're airing eps 9-13 online. mike said they'll have it up on multiple platforms. i would love for that to include netflix, but given viacom/netflix's lack of a partnership, i'm guessing it'll be on nick.com + hulu plus or something. we'll get to watch it, it def isn't canceled, but just not on cable

i actually preferred season 2 to 1, i think. season 1 had flat characters, a contrived love triangle (granted so did season 2 lol), and a really dumb plot resolution that destroyed the villain's characterization. season 2 had its fair share of problems, but the second half was pretty fantastic imo, even given the DEM at the end and the impersonal final battle (not a fan of the whole kaiju battle, didn't really feel like much was at stake).
