As a rule of thumb, for the vast majority of consumer products, the "cost" of the product is roughly 25% of the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

For products made abroad, like Nike shoes, that's the "landed cost," which includes not only labor and materials (including packaging), but also freight, Customs duties, etc. It is the cost of getting the shoes built and delivered to market within the borders of the market country.

So if a pair of shoes costs $150 in the store, Nike sold them at wholesale to the store for about $75, and Nike's "landed cost" was roughly $37.50. The difference between Nike's landed cost and the wholesale price of the shoe is Nike's corporate overhead (payroll, real estate costs, R&D, advertising/demand creation, T&E, taxes, office supplies and equipment, telecom, etc.) plus profit.

This formula, or a close variation, can be applied to figure out the costs of many retail products.

Specific information about any particular style is not public.

Are you trying to defend Nike or what? because in your own source it states

"Even if wages were doubled and the extra cost passed straight on to the consumer, it would add no more to the price of the shoes than the cost of a pair of shoelaces."

im not wrong, your statistics are from 1997, if you didn't know they have found ways to drsatically

reduce labor costs by opening new markets in SE asia, which is the reason for people being upset about

sweatshops in recent times. 2.50 is the price of labor of TWO shoes in 1997 , I am talking about the

price of one shoe without sneakers or soles, that is around 20 cents

were probably not supposed to be getting off topic like this so if you want lets carry on the

discussion in the politics forum

I just love how companies just slap a price tag on t-shirts and it somehow makes people believe that

they're now something more special than that 2$ shirt at the local Walmart.
