The instrumentation feels very tight, the vocals are top notch. Yes, it's not new, but it's a sound slightly refined, in my opinion. I definitely prefer this over Miasma.

Opening track is one of my top TBDM songs.

idk man Miasma starts off with I'm Charming, Flies and Statutory Ape... those three are among the best. Album finishes with Spite Suicide and Miasma... those are very solid as well.
I suppose I'll have to listen to Everblack a couple more times.

the vocals saved this album for me. its definitely trevors best work. Musically it seems more formulaic than they used to. and the solos tend to blend together since every single song has one. its still pretty good though.

" the solos tend to blend together since every single song has one"

This might be another reason I can't really get into the album

I'm used with that so I don't see that as a problem either.

The solos are all amazingly technical and melodic, but it's come to the point where you know exactly when one is coming even if it's your first time listening to the song.

I guess so, but sometimes I feel predictability is a good thing, as it means i know I'm definetly going to enjoy what comes next

That's a positive way to look at it, true.
