Yeah minty I can tell you connect with this on a really deep level like I do with Invented, that's cool man. I know they're not pop-punk anymore I was just making a comparison, and anyway I think they still have a bit of influence from pop-punk.

How are they not pop punk. They're either pop punk or pop rock, and I don't think there's a massive difference between the two.

they are generally midtempo rock. howd you have me is the only time i ever remember zach drumming that fast, or anywhere close to that fast. theyre an alternative rock band and thats basically it. you wouldnt call mae pop punk. if they do have any other tinges to their sound, jimmy are more emo pop / pop rock / alternative rock. there are no punk aspects in their sound.

Like I said, I don't see a huge difference between pop-punk and pop-rock. When Jimmy play fast, which they do several times an album, they definitely have punk tendencies. And pop-punk can be slow and midtempo.

there is a big difference between pop rock and pop punk. and jimmy rarely ever play fast. but theres also rarely ever a point in arguing genre classifications.

You can't say any band is part emo in any aspect without them having punk in them, since emo is inherently derived from
punk. And Maybe this isn't pop punk, though bleed American certainly is. How can anybody say that the middle and
especially bleed American, the song, isn't pop punk?
God, I hate the term 'emo pop.'

while this is alternative rock imo it does have a lil pop-punk charm beneath its layers : D

I didn't really thing Bleed American (the song) was pop punky, but I definitely think The Middle was. I thought it had more of a rock vibe, which isn't something you can say about much of their material and is probably why I like that song so much over their other stuff I have heard.

Yeah, it got old quick, but it was still a decent song. I love Bleed American, Sweetness and Pain. I still need to give their albums a proper listen.
lol, but I have been saying that since probably late last year. Maybe one day it will happen.
|

definitely check out the song a praise chorus off that album oh and 'hear you me' is one of the most beautiful songs ever.
yeah i suppose the middle wasn't bad but it was SO OVERPLAYED lol so it was a bad introduction to the band for me. I didn't get into them until I heard futures.

Always enjoyed 'The Middle' but it got way too much air time on the music channels at the time, got really run into the ground, probably contributed to your dislike?
'A Praise Chorus' and 'The Authority Song' are probably my favs of Bleed American.
