It would be unnecessary to ontologically assign my opinion, which would in turn become a graphically designated restriction, to our friendship that is at stake.

This ain't a bad album and i know it's down to opinion and shit but have you ever heard another soul

disco/funk album before cagedescending? a 5 for this is pretty hefty

im no expert but yes ive heard a few and this stands proudly alongside them

besides, i don't particularly need to be a seasoned genre connoisseur to know how this record makes me
feel

not to mention this reaches beyond disco/funk

I love this album, might bump rating up. Might get shit for this, but I honestly think this is the best thing Daft Punk has released by a long shot. Not to say homework and discovery aren't good I just think this is different, but better.

The problem I have with this isn't that it's a "huge departure" for them or any bullshit like that, it's the fact that it takes so long to get going. I may just be nitpicky about track ordering on albums but certain tracks (Giorgio by Moroder especially) feel really out of place, almost like they forced the song in there simply to say that they collaborated with Giorgio.

That being said, Instant Crush and Doin' It Right are the groove.

the track ordering kinda threw me a little at first, but i quickly came to dig it

the exuberance of Give Life Back followed by the uncertainty of Game, the adventurousness of Giorgio (which is certainly not just a cheap collaboration, he is one of their biggest influences and considering the entire album is largely a loving throwback to his sound and DP's roots, it's entirely fitting), the introspection of Within... the centrepiece epic that is Touch sandwiched in between two catchy energetic numbers is genius. then Contact is just a sublime sendoff

Hmm. I happen to completely disagree. That said, i envy you in your love for this album Cage. The

singles here are still great

I've never heard a soul/disco album in full, which may be partially why I love this album. It's kind

of like how everyone loves the simplest metalcore when they first hear it because it is so unique.

Also, please someone tell me how you feel when you listen to Instant Crush in the car at night.

If this album wasn't so damn long I could overlook how unimpressive I find some of these songs, but it drags just fuckin painfully sometimes.

Doin It Right and Lose Yourself To Dance are 2 of my favorite songs of the year though.

Too much repetition to justify a 4 IMO.
