This is indeed the best composed music.

This had a massive influence on a lot of Muse songs. Space Dementia is the most obvious one, it could be considered a prog rock tribute to this masterpiece

I'm usually turned off by what I consider the excesses of romanticism, and the genre itself i sometimes find infused with ego, but the R man does the aesthetic right in this one. anyway, would rate 4.3 if I could

Rach is quintessential romantacism without sounding too derived. Perfect music imo.

One of the most outstanding pieces of music I've ever heard.

It's great, but Rachmaninoff has better stuff imo. Isle of the Dead >

This is gonna be a super unpopular opinion, but I find this one meddles too much in the previously mentioned romanticism for my liking and actually prefer Rach’s 1st Concerto by a good bit.

No problem with that 3, preference lead.
Rach 1st piano concerto is a classic.

Yeah. I have found that the classical ratings on here are mostly arbitrary. Basically everything is rated super high anyway hahah.
Might have to bump this to a 3.5 anyway, 1st movement was so good.

Their is so much good music out there. From many genre.
( high ratings are generally a mix of both, massive reconnaissance by critics & arbitrary perso choice, i like to see it as a plus, we can, if we want, put our guts on the table)
Indeed, first movement is overshadowing the rest by his insane emotionally charge content.
