@malleus that verse is solid, song is probably one of the record's weakest.

I'm not sure you guys are listening to the same record - the production is really excellent overall. I haven't heard production this unique out of a mainstream rap record in a while.

Flow and delivery is very important. But if you deliver lyrics that suck well, I will respect your music less. Just my personal preference. There is plenty of well produced terrible music out there. Good production does not equal good music. For example, 80% of popular music. (Totally made up that number).

Ghetto Symphony's production is just awesome. Agree with Buzz, the vocal performances aren't great but
dayumm.. dat prod.

And obviously good production doesn't make good music, but a lot of ASAP's tunes are brilliant songs
in their own right, with or without lyrics. See all the clams stuff..

A$AP Ferg's verse is terrible, but Rocky's and Gunplay's are both awesome.

@jmh I used to care a lot about lyrics back when i was just discovering hip-hop, but i'm not caught up on it as much anymore. Just like pop music like you stated. i love a lot of pop now, but didn't really care for it as much cause it wasn't terribly deep lyrically. but honestly, there's a time and place for insightful lyricism - and it's not in gangster rap or pop for the most part. i dont expect Dark Time Sunshine to bring raw punchlines nor do i expect lil wayne to wax metaphysics

Yea I get that. Just not what I'm looking for in music. Having said that I will actually listen to this guy today so I can have a real opinion.
