Hey, why sample actual artists when you can sample complete jackshit. Because gods know if you remind people of good music in the midst of your bad music...

We've gone from sampling pop culture to youtube culture

Even that shitty Pitbull song for MIB3 had a better sample. (despite the fact that it's usage was shit)

This is way better than Make It Bun Dem.
|

I'd rather listen to several of his previous songs more than this, including make it bun dem. People's
arguments that this shouldn't be a 1 or 1.5 cos he's doing something different are dumb

He sucked in From First To Last and he sucks now. I cant understand how such a mediocre artist can be so popular when there is so much better music out there that is more deserving.

@AnarchistFish
When we're talking about an artist whose releases consist of 3 remixes, 3 rehashes and maybe 1 new song if you're lucky, doing something different is a pretty good reason to rate it a bit higher tbh

"when that tanked he turned to dubstep since it was starting to be trendy by the time."
you sure you wanna stand by that as "absolute facts"?

Album Rating: 2.0
I just think that both these points are very arguable, not "facts" by any stretch:
-FFTL tanked? um, all my scenecore acquaintances still loved them when they broke up and were devastated. I still hear their shit on the radio once or twice a week.
-Brostep arguably became trendy as a result of Skrillex becoming popular, not the other way around. I mean, who was doing brostep before him (with a similar level of exposure)? I think you've got the causal arrow backwards on that.
he started making electronic music because, well, that's what every kid with a mac eventually starts doing. I'm sure he didn't set out with this goal of "I will cash in on the incoming EDM trend and will capitalize in every possible way - my personal enjoyment and satisfaction comes second to cash moniessssss", North America is just retarded so he got paaaaaaiiiiiiid, I don't think he saw this coming as early as the FFTL days. I could be wrong but I think it's dumb of you to make those statements like they're facts. It's an interesting outlook and could be discussed, but none of what you said is widely agreed upon at all at all.

Seems partially factual and partially opinionated. That's just me.
