Intro is a tad long, but still a great review, man. The album kinda feels like Addicted Pt. II, but in a good way. It has a song for everyone!

Crazyfool, I totally agree. Most stuff coming out today is extremely disheartening. Though, I've recently gotten into a bunch of Indie music, and found stuff like Minus the Bear, which are absolutely fantastic. Maybe you aren't crazy...

Realizing the only reason I haven't lowered this is the demo CD...

The bonus disk kicks the shit out of the "actual" album.

Sad but true. I've slowly realized there's only a few great songs on the actual album.

Let it be known I think Mr. Townsend is without question one of the best producers of all time.

I'm realizing overall, Dev's newer stuff mostly doesn't hold a candle to his pre-sobriety stuff. Sure there's a good amount of awesome stuff, but for whatever reason, his music's lost something. Maybe he's going for a "big picture" approach with his music now? I feel like the albums for the most part lack a deeper meaning now. Perhaps he wants it that way. Regardless...

....And what "deeper meaning" is in his older stuff?

It changes for each album CutMan, but I think it changes for each person. I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say, but Dev's music definitely changed when his lifestyle did.

I just get a liiiittle tired of people thinking things stop being deep when a person stops being an emotional, self-destructive mess of a human being, you know? So I always question it, no offense.

I kinda know what Wheelah's getting at. With a few exceptions (Lady Helen/Terminal spring to mind) his DTP music has felt a little more...I don't know, "detached."

Detached? I just don't sense that. *shrug*

Hell, maybe it just doesn't resonate with me as well as his older stuff. Although the more I say that

the less I believe it...I really dig the new stuff, Ghost 2 and Ki have some of his best work in years

IMO (which is why I'm so hyped for Casualties)..
