Music is all subjective. With that being said...the stuff I heard off Eclipse is not "boring" or "meh" or anything but. To say that is being very naive. Why? Because the music that Veil of Maya makes is very unique. They possess amazing musicianship in the genre (metal) they write in.
Not saying everyone has to like it.
TCMC was amazing. [Id] grew on me immensely. And Eclipse will also be another awesome progression for this band. They don't write "meh" albums. This band has more creative/technical talent than most metal bands. Marc Okubo is a guitar madman. He gives his guitar riffs a lot of color and movement. His work on all VoM's albums always seems to be "going forward". I never think "meh...this is a stagnant part". Marc's stuff is very exciting and even more exciting when you hear it live.
Most kids now-a-days are just so stubborn and retarded when it comes to music. Some of them don't know when they hear good/better songwriting in a genre if it smacked them in face.
Looking forward to getting my pre-order in the mail. :>
