Am I the only one who skips Everybody Hurts most of the time when listening to this? It's a great song but you really need to be in a certain kind of mood to appreciate it.

only problem with Everybody Hurts is that it's so non-subtle
I mean the message is as good as you can get, just a shoutout to the fans not to do self-harm, that's just doing a good thing. And the performances and composition are all lovely. But everything from the music to the lyrics is just so clear, and so unable to be interpreted as anything else, which is not how I like my R.E.M., I like em vague and misleading and labyrinthine like Nightswimming and Sidewinder and so on
