I didn't even know John Arch was making music. It's fantastic to hear from him once again, what a killer fucking voice he has. This is from 2011? Woah, that slipped right by me. Having a hard time finding this, but I heard a couple songs off YT and I'm very impressed. God damn did his voice age at all? holy shit! He has to be almost 60 by now..that's insane.
Midnight Serenade is awesome, really. Gonna have to find this record somewhere or find a good rip because this is great.

this has become my favorite 'Fates Warning', period......keep in mind that it is the same current Fates lineup minus Ray of course

No kidding? Well, shit I'm sold. I haven't really followed Fate since the 90's but I have heard some of their newer releases and well this sounds more up my alley.

Was listening to this yesterday. Matheos brought the riffs hard. Probably his most aggressive release

Man that Spanish acoustic section during the intro of "Stained Glass Sky" is so fucking tasteful. Don't know why Jim doesn't incorporate more of those kind of elements in FW and OSI

'This should have been a fates record. Would have loved to hear this with Ray.'
Omair dude, the first 3 songs were meant to be on a Fates Warning album......interesting

Did Jim mention that? I don't see why not. Fates is pretty much Jim's baby, so he could swap ideas here and there. Really curious about his upcoming side project

I'm not sure if this is necessarily more aggressive than No Exit, but certainly it's more aggressive than anything Jim made since. I think Willie nailed it with the summary of why this is a signature example of an amazing 2010s traditional progressive metal album. The musicianship and mathematical factors are obviously very high, but even the three 10+ minute epics' lengths are more than justified because they know how to apply insane drumming and two unique soloing styles with enough room for the songs to prosper.

Theories was really enjoyable too, especially hearing four of those songs live.
