Yeah the sequencing is fucking good, like probably the best I've heard so far in my discog run.

> it was well known but seems to get lost in the shuffle these days a bit because of the more popular albums before it and after it. most big fans of Bowie will probably know this one and like it so idk if it's underrated.
it depends how u define underrated i guess... to me its the very fact that people either dont check it or rate it lower than a lot of comparable bowie albums
retcon pin ups out of existence and his 1970-1980 run is one of the most impressively consistently great in music imo

I hear what you're sayin, this is better than Station to Station I think but that has a 4.4. I still think average bowie fans in real life know this one is a classic, more than Young Americans at least.

Listening a second time, fuck idk it might be a 4.5. also yeah how tf do you follow Aladdin sane with pin ups and then put this out right after. Wild

Station to station is 100% deserving of that 4.4 imo. Killer tracks, many of the best he's ever made

station to station used to be my fav for the longest time, dunno what things would look like now

for some reason Station is not as interesting to me as a lot of his other albums, still great but usually not my pick. I also like Lodger more.

I'd never fully heard low, hunky dory, heroes, heathen, scary monsters, young americans, or this, so I decided to do a discog run. Station to station was my favourite too for years but I'm not sure if that'll be true after I'm done this

Oh lodger too, haven't heard that one. Or most of the latter half of this discog but I hear a few albums range from mediocre to downright fucking awful. I was surprised how comically bad his debut was. What a trainwreck it an album

Nothing can really compare to Low. Earthling, Scary Monsters and Blackstar are his other best albums imo.

I'd disagree since some of my favs are in there, most of the albums are actually quite decent. Never Let Me Down is his only shit album.

Earthling? Interesting take, I haven't seen a lot of people rep that album. I'm rly excited for scary monsters, low and heathen. I've had those hyped so much

What about hours, black tie, tonight, never let me down?

Album Rating: 4.0
yeah I have Earthling 5'd, it's peak Bowie for me. not many people are interested though, you won't find many people repping it. this is a testament to having such a great discog that has such incredible range though.

I rly wish sweet thing, candidate, and sweet thing reprisal were all just condensed into one track lol. It's fucking up my playlist of songs I'm making from my favourites as I go through the discog

So should I just totally skip never let me down? Are there any essential tracks off of it? I guess if I'm doing a full discog run I might as well listen to it but ugh

just listen to every album, you'll have an even better understanding of the context of each release. at least for me, that helps to hear his evolution and rise up to his last two masterpiece albums. never let me down is terrible imo but still give it a try, I don't think he has an album worth skipping except his very first one.
