Monster album oft overlooked next to the likes of disintegration, pornography, seventeen seconds, etc.

Amazing album agreed. Waterlogged, clearance rack take but DISINTEGRATION and PORNOGRAPHY are still the best imo, monstrous albums and both incredibly evocative and moody in ways that so many other 80s albums tried and failed. But this is stacked with bops.

i could probably count on two hands the amount of albums that exist that i prefer over disintegration but i think this tops everything else. pornography is rad as hell but its lost some of its appeal overtime (vs faith whose staying power has increased a lot for me the last few years)

I still have the Join the Dots Boxset. That was a weird day because I think I bought that around the same time as a crappy Virgin Mobile pre paid phone. Waste of money. The Join the Dots box set is nice, but I'd passit over to someone who really cares still.

The Virgin Mobile was the more waste of money because I got my credit going and acquired Cingular. Jesus this is a mind trip.

Great album, but over the years my favorite tracks have emerged as the weird twisted riff ones, like Screw and Push. And then there's Sinking.

Sinking is almost cert their best closer and sometimes best song altogether, amazing track

The closer for Pornography is really powerful to me but sinking is definitely in the running, i like how it encapsulates the turmoil of the band up to that point in time and contrasts the more upbeat songs on the album. As if they tried cheering themselves up only to end at feeling as uncertain as before. It's well done in so many ways

Apologies for rambling about my past ocassionally here, but I do try to keep it somewhat relevant. Sinking is great. Even though I think Screw sucks. This is still a 5/5 album actually.
