Dev thanks for reviewing all this dubstep and lo-fi, I'm loving all of your recs and reviews. This album is so damn beautiful. Keep plugging reviews, because this genre is totally new to me and I need a guide.

dev, you ever jammed bowery electric??? I thought of them when i first jammed this. They were more of a shoegaze band, but latter developed into more trip-hop styles...
|

Yeah I love Bowery

ive heard half of swarms and i can say ive definitely been missing out on the dubstep, really good stuff.

I agree with Fractured- I don't have a lot of experience in this field, and your reviews are great for keeping me in the loop. This album is superb- I'm so glad to have found it x)

I already knew I loved this, but last night I had a long drive infront of me, so I played this in its entirety, with the bass in my car turned up.
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Yea, this album is no joke. Goin to 4.5 for now. All Yours is top five soty material easy. Not to mention title track. Honestly not sure why this is considered dubstep though, seems much more akin to trip hop.

Why wouldn't it be?

Guess I'm just not informed enough as to the definition. The frequent vocals here and more laid back groove don't gel with my idea of dubstep, but my idea is probably wrong.
|

Having vocals doesn't stop it from being a part of the genre, and not all dubstep is uber-whomp
|
| |
Deviant, what would you consider to be dubstep? You seem to know what you're talking about, and I would love to have a bit of a firmer grasp on the genre, if that makes sense
