I'm so tired of shit like "they can't write songs" like you say QWE. And the part you quoted , wasn't targeting you. Seriously, the band "wrote" something and have attained a result : a song with some unconventionnal structure, time signatures and wackyness. Deal with it. I don't know how you can delusion yourselves that the guys couldn't write a song. If you say that, it is like saying Yes, King Crimson, Rush. Van Der Graaf Generator and many others never wrote a song. For the 70's, they were pretty weird and unconventionnal like Unexpect are for the 2000's. You could say it's a weak argument, but I don't care. Just open your mind for once. Edit: For someone who like Jane Doe, As The Root Undo and Off Minor, I cannot understand why you would dislike this.
I can agree that Guitar wanking such as Viraemia or Brain Drill is not song writing. But there is nothing like that here.
