I'm pretty sure that if this album was released by a different band or if Scar Symmetry didn't have the three stellar accomplishments before DMD, this album would not get a rating lower than 3.

Most likely. If this was Scar Symmetry's debut record, it would get a higher score. People are still butt hurt that Christian Alvestam is gone and to them, Scar Symmetry died when he left the band.

Ire, if you're going to insult me or even attempt at commenting on my sexuality, first learn to form proper sentences. Thanks.

TO THEM, Ire.

I'm still trying hard to ascertain what this album misses that the first three had. Still trying hard.

Lars and Christian also had a different level of vocal range from each other. Christian is better, but Lars is not bad. He has improved since Dark Matter Dimensions.

That he has, but his voice still doesn't deliver any real variance in emotion, which was part of the reason why their earlier albums were better. They just seem flat, in a sense.

Hah. Personally I liked Christian's singing more when he didn't try so hard to sound emotional. When he did, he was unable to vary it and it all sounded as though he was constipated. Better than Lars, but not to the point of making a difference for me.

Lars's vocal style doesn't really suit an emotional kind of singing variance. I'm sure he tries to sing with great emotion, but the way his natural tone comes out, it's not as crisp as Christian's was.

I'm just glad he improved from Dark Matter Dimensions. That shows hard work on his part.

Lars on the other hand lacks control and is unable to hold his notes for long, plus his vibratos are lacking. As for range, anyone can extend his range amazingly if only he knows what exercises to do. Christian didn't always have such a widerange, just listen to him on Unmoored's 2003 record.

It's a shame that that's the case because their music benefits from an added infusion of emotion.
