"Surprisingly, the North Carolina outfit sound reinvigorated compared to their previous few efforts, with a palpable

thread of energy and purpose in almost every moment of the record. Unfortunately, after

taking firm control of their output once more...."

I understand kinetic versus potential energy just fine, but this whole section plays off as an extremely colorful and

inflammatory description that really says nothing at all. A band that takes "firm control", doesn't sound like a pilot

that is failing to fly smoothly. If the band purposefully meant to "fly their plane in to the goddamn mountain" then

their suicidal sense of purpose is a contradiction to why anyone even makes music. Who makes music in the hopes

of creating a "gleaming pile of crap"?

I am sure that you are going to make some witty, sarcastic comment on how I am missing your point, but really, for

me it still all boils down this: I don't care how or what people listen to, just how they support their arguments when

they are trying to put down something that many others like.

"the stronger the rating, either good or bad, will require more objective reasons why; just as a stronger statement of

what we find to be true in anything in our world requires more objective evidence."

Yo back up now and give a brother room

The fuse is lit and I'm about to go boom

Mercy mercy mercy me

My life is a cage but on stage I'm free

Hyped up syched up ready for wil'in'

Standing in a crowd of girls like an island

I see the one I wanna sic come here cutie

I flip 'em around and then I work that booty

Work the body work work the body

Slow down girl you're 'bout to hurt somebody

Oh and yo let's get just one thing clear

There's only one reason why I came here

Ya really done want me to tig-a-tig-a-tig-a tell ya wassup (go)

Ya really done want me to tig-a-tig-a-tig-a tell ya wassup (go)

Ya really done want me to tig-a-tig-a-tig-a tell ya wassup (go)

I came here tonight to hear the crowd go

Boom! shake-shake-shake the room

Boom! shake-shake-shake the room

Boom! shake-shake-shake the room

Tic-tic-tic-tic boom!

Completely agree. Just a boring as hell album. Barely anything interesting happens, and when something starts to (4:20 Augment of Rebirth), it dies out quick.

Well written... Even though this might be one of the best albums of the year...

I respect your opinion but I must disagree, unfortunately.

The record is brimming with half-realised ideas that would require far more than three songs to reach their potential. Crisp, punchy riffs are shoved onto preceding sections with a workmanlike inevitability; occasional patches of noodling show up for no particular reason, like in the soft-porn interlude of ‘Lunar Wilderness’.

i thought this about the alaska-tgm era and i guess this pertains to that sorta aesthetic as well but specular reflection is the best thing theyve done in ages and the ideas are given breathing room. that percussion groove at like 4:30 is so sweet.

also lol forgot how bad the lyrics were.

also didnt know you wrote a review props good stuff. never seen anyone harsher than me about btbam
