Starting to believe this might be 5 worthy

If I changed it, would be a 4. Misplaced Childhood is the only album of theirs I enjoy from start to finish.

I prefer this one by a mile. There isn't a single moment without impressive guitar or synth work.
This one's sound feels richer

Great album. It's just too gloomy in general, It tends to bring me down. Some of their greatest songs are found here, but most of them are kinda downward spirals.
Hey Titan! Always progging, sup!

Script is also dark, but it's grandiose and poignant with a dense atmosphere. My second fave of their heydays.

I've seen Marillion opening for Power Windows' tour in 1985. They played the whole Misplaced Childhood album. Kick ass show. It helps to be biased for Misplaced Childhood.
@Titan, you're so right. The first time I heard ''He Knows You Know'' at the radio, I thought at first glance it was a new and brillant Genesis song.

Power Windows tour and Misplaced Childhood in its entirety is as good as it gets
but i thought they played through blind curve due to time constraints?....

Album Rating: 4.0
No, they played Blind Curve, but they skipped Childhood's End and probably White Feather too. I was deceived to not hearing Childhood's End. It's an essential track, and they are all special (except maybe for Kayleigh and White Feather but still...).
And yes Rush were incredible at that time. I also saw them for two subsequent shows, don't remember for which albums, it's a shame. Maybe Presto and another one not too far from it...

as great as that is, i'd be a little disappointed with the omission of childhoods end

They were probably asked to shorten their setlist at the last minute. That's the only way to be forgivable.

White feather is so essential to that album. For me it's Childhood, this, Script. Sup fellow Marillion fans

Hey bgill... It's Childhood for me too, it's like one majestic, epic suite song. Then it's Script, this and Fugazi. I enjoy Fugazi a lot, but couple of the songs lack of climaxes and vitality, and some of its longer songs tend to drag. Clutching is the least progressive of the bunch and consists of more song-oriented, radio-friendly material. But we can say that Fish left the band with a bang.

Yeah, for sure. I know this one is poppier but it still gets me. Script has probably their best standalone song in Forgotten Sons, but the first half isn't as mind blowing to me. This is a top 5 band for me though so all complaints are very minor. I like Fugazi a lot, but it isn't near the level of the other 3 to me.

You mean Script instead of Clutching, isn't it? Forgotten Sons and Chelsea Monday are the best in there. I also love the t/t and He Knows you Know.

Yeah, fixed. I think Garden Party is what brings it down for me a bit but they're all very good at least

I rate this and Script over Childhood, because the synth on that really rubs me the wrong way.
Did anyone ever listen to Fish's solo stuff?
