The story of this man is beyond tragic. Diggin his music though I think the mystique behind him has inflated his music's hype beyond its inherent quality to a degree.

@Evok, it's a reasonable argument but can't say I agree. I've heard a lot of folk music and there's something that sets Nick Drake apart, the quality of the playing and the arrangements is top-notch, and I can't think of another artist that crafts the same mood as him.
Take this with a grain of salt though, I'm a huge fan of all three of his LPs.

Looks like an album of demos from this album just dropped, will give it a spin.
On a separate note, I always thought the string arrangements on this were gorgeous (and the arrangements on Bryter Layter, corny), but it was my understanding they weren't Nick's, which is why when he finally had his way it was just barren like on Pink Moon.
So I will be listening to the arrangement-free versions of those tracks with some curiosity.
