One of Maiden's weakest albums... still better than most crap that comes out these days as far as metal is concerned, though.

To me iron maiden made yet another crowning achievement in this album. They have progressed and changed their sound so many times, but they haven't always been so successful. This is one such album that has proved worthwhile in my view.

Funny, I can't hear any significant changes or novelty in this album - I find it pretty much in line

with the last 2 Maiden albums, only worse. There are a couple of decent songs and the all rest is

average to poor, in my opinion.

"When the wild wind blows", "The alchemist", and "Starblind" were the songs that I liked the most here. Still the other songs were good.

This album is a grower. First listen of El Dorado I really disliked. But I have to admit, this one of Maiden's most organic releases since 7th Son of a 7th Son.

Upped rating because of When the Wild Wind Blows lyrics.

I look at this totally differently to Mike. My 3 favourite songs are When The Wild Wind Blows, Satellite 15 - The Final Frontier and El Dorado, the latter two being his weaker songs. Pffffffft. The second half of the record, however, gets a little too lengthy in my opinion, although WTWWB is such a tune I've put it as a contender for the best Maiden song ever. Overall, this is a 4.5 record - a true great that we'll still be listening to for years to come.

Well I wouldn't say that it is their best song but it sure deserves the title of "Epic". You know, those MAIDEN songs that might (or not) be a bit longer than the average but are so well written and have such a catchy and distinct sound that makes them stand out. But yes, it is my favorite song from them.

(Paschendale, The number of the beast, Fear of the dark, Rime of the ancient mariner, The longest day are some examples)

I don't have the attention span to follow the lyrics, but the vocal melodies in When the Wild Wind Blows are crazy catchy. Song RULES. I guess I have to listen to the rest of this album, now...

Brave New World is by far Maiden's best since the turn of the century

Yes. But this still rules hard.

This album is great but in the second half of the album it becomes epic.
