I find it pretty hilarious when people comment on the character of some band member. Who cares, honestly; it's the music that matters. That said, lyrics also matter, and they have to be pretty bad to actually make me re-evaluate my ability to listen to a band. And guess what, this album has managed to accomplish that. The tracks sound like studio musicians the instrumentation is so unrecognizable. He needs unique music to be any good. Imo, his atonal stuff is his best work, as in DBM.

If by "Tailored sheets..." you Mean "The Past should say Dead"..Then yeah, pretty good hook, I wouldn't say ever, But I totally agree that when I hear one of my friends I will pop off and start singing the song..So maybe we can agree is very recognizable. or something of that nature..
as far his his lyrical content, WHO, CARES. so he bangs underage groupies and does coke, ...and hes a dirty ginger with a mullet. Mother fucker makes ..oh this is so bad. He makes dirty words sound good ( EH EH, DGD, YEEEAAAH!!!!) so who cares. He can sing. and the band rules. so...yeah. :D

Relativity was such a massive disappointment for me, I genuinely find NOTHING interesting about this band now, this was pretty crap in my opinion as well.

Out of curiosity, I listened to a song or two of the Isles and Glaciers album. What a train wreck. Somehow DGD was able to harness his voice with great dueling guitar work, but nothing since has been even remotely interesting.

The album would be good, had they not let a producer have so much influence over THEIR record. A few songs are a good balance between accessible AND musically driving, but the girth of it is a poor attempt to be saved from the depths of the "Rise Records" category. They cared too much about being more accessible. As an artist is it more important to release a sub-par, mediocre album that a wider amount of people will enjoy, or to release a genre-challenging, groundbreaking album that less people might like? They chose the wrong choice in my eyes. Musicians that don't play on the edge of their abilities and creativity at all times shouldn't be playing at all.
Furthermore, Johnny Craig really took a step back with lyrical content. It is so dry and conventional I have trouble taking him seriously. "Fear, couldn't place its hands on us my dear/My pride has dropped/Because I couldn't sell short myself this time."

None demonstrates this more potently than opening track ‘Here’s to the Future, Kids’
the tracklist says its "A Toast To The Future", might wanna fix that, good review, i despise emarosa though
