Dang, as much as I love The ArchAndroid, it was refreshing to see something else at the top of the charts for a few days.

Great to hear it/I didn't disappoint you Josh.

"for a few days" are the key words there thatoneguy. I still haven't listened to the Monae album, but I'm pretty sure I will like it a lot. If Parades can end up Top 10 on the charts, I'd be more than happy. Not super confident tbh, but this album deserves it.

She just may be. Time will tell.

And I spoke to soon, as Parades has already dropped out of the top 10 on the overall yearly charts (mainly because 2 other albums finally got up to 20 votes).

I'd hate to have to agree with just about every one of your recent reviews Davey, but this one is spot on!

I'm downloading this. If you did well, DaveyBoy, then I'm downloading Foals too.

Foals is a tad better. but both of these made me trust DaveyBoy's opinion on really sweet unknown 2010 albums.

Fair enough musicaddiction... You've got a deal. And I know you mean "purchasing via download".

For any doubters of this album, see SeaAnemone's above comment... Since I had a lot to make up to him after liking Emery so much. LOL.

I hear a lot of Minus the Bear and As Tall As Lions in their sound. I've only gone through the first couple songs, but I'd say those are two potential influences of theirs.

Careful bailar, if you continue on with building me up, Davey will have to listen to Enrique!

I have to be honest with you musicaddiction, while I don't know either of those bands like the back of my hand, I don't fully see the resemblance. Although, I guess there doesn't have to be a great resemblance to be an influence. I just had a look through a few other reviews of this album and Minus The Bear were mentioned once, but that's about it. Hoping you're liking it so far.

I can definitely hear MtB in Dead Nationale.

'Dead Nationale' is probably the song where I can hear the most influences. I strangely thought of Manchester Orchestra also when listening to that track. At least, their more rockier songs anyway.

Manchester Orchestra should tour with Parades. My life would be complete.

I'd be there in a flash. It would be a great double-bill.

And it would make a lot more sense than Birds Of Tokyo/Silversun Pickups.

Still going to that. Nothing's getting inbetween me and Brian Aubert's fuckable golden throat
