Brian Fallon has told Spin Magazine that the next Gaslight Anthem album will sound more like The 59
Sound, he also goes onto say "When I buy a record by a band and it sounds completely different, I'm
just like, 'Why didn't you change your band name?'"
and is not in relation to American Slang as they quote was from last week.

I love The '59 Sound, but it edges on sounding a bit repetetive towards the end.
Whereas American Slang is more diverse and interesting throughout.
But yeah, wait and see I guess...

Look, sometimes bands are able to rehash old formulas and they still sound completely fresh, like the Alkaline Trio. But, I'm sure that whatever they make will be awesome. If not, then I'm sure whatever succeeds that will be awesome. If not, then fuck it.
I'd also like to point out that I love The '59 Sound. Easily surpasses this.

This album lacks the edgy emotional punch the '59 Sound had, that being said this is still a fun record, the Diamond Church Street Choir is such a good summer driving song.
