Songwriting on Chiastic Slide: write a godlike electronic piece -> let it groove for three minutes -> gleefully "morph" it into goofy sounding nonsense. Their aim was probably to ensure these transformations are intentionally whimsical, emphasizing that the original material is being humorously deconstructed. The problem is that this deconstruction process is subtle to imperceptible, and the overt and cringe-worthy intentionality is jarring - it's not something Ae is particularly good at. Sure, one can dismantle all this shitshow inside their brain so as to enjoy the fart sounds that dominate the latter half of each track. What I'm saying is you have to be extremely intelligent to appreciate this piece of shit, but also immensely dumb to waste your time and engage with it.
