But the difference is Eminem handled it differently. Instead of creating some gimmick, he actually wrote lyrics with some passion and lyrics that were perhaps of the more violent vein, but actually well written. ICP have godawful lyrics and the pseudo-horrorcore bullshit is laughable. I think Eminem personally is a lot more legitimate as an artist than ICP.

Eminem used stage sets and props the same as Eminem or ICP.
How is ICP a gimmick? What about Kool Keith creating 78 million aliases, or Eminem's Slim Shady voice, where he's trying to sound possessed? Not attacking anyone here, just pointing out that ICP really aren't all that gimmicky.
Also, Eminem's not really more violent than ICP, it's just that the clown image offsets the violence.
