My problem is that they have a bit of filler on everything. The only two albums that even come close to this are Close to World Below and Here in After. They simply take the best aspects of their past albums, cut the fat and deliver a tighter-than-a-japanese-girls.....I think you it.

what ive heard (which is only 3 albums kill me), Close to World Below is slightly better imo.

this has far more filler than earlier albums. and by filler i hope you're meaning 'less good' songs because none of them are bad. but dawn of possession, close to a world below, unholy cult and here in after are all better or at least on par with this, i think some of the 4.5 and 5s are going a bit too far.

Filler is a matter of opinion and in this case, I love everything about this album. The way 'Intro' leads into 'The Purge' is just crushing. I just find the albums you've suggested above to have a few weaker moments. Don't get me wrong, they all fucking destroy!

Yeah, I am going to have to agree with The Wiz on this one. This album is better than Close to a World Below, but that isn't saying the album sucks, but this one is better. They have compiled sweet ass riffs and I think the production on this one is much better.

In fact, I am listening to this right now, and I am bumping this one up to suberb. I mean, the drums sound so massive, the guitars are really clear and intricate. Everything just sounds mixed well. All I can say, once "The Purge" hits, it is go time.

really? tbqh I would probably place this towards the bottom of their discography

sure its an excellent album, but there's nothing on here which hasn't already been done on any other Immolation album
