I'm just asking because I was having a debate with an acquaintance who was basically saying that if I'm not hoping for a new album then I'm not a true fan.

Ass hat.

Yeah...I mean I understand wanting a new album badly...but I only want them to put something out if

they feel it stands up to their prior releases. If it takes until 2018, then it takes that long. If

it never happens, then I'll be content with their current body of work. Maybe that's just me being

selfish.

I doubt it would too...but I'd rather them just dissolve as a band instead of put out something

like...I dunno...sort of catchy but no passion or heart whatsoever

Question for you Brand New fans out there: Which is better - this band releasing 1 or 2 more albums that are, say, 3.5 caliber OR just never making another album and preserving their legacy of making multiple classics (not to mention that the totally badass Noro would be the last song they ever wrote...I'm on myyyyy waaaaaay to hellllllll)?

I've always been of the opinion that later iterations don't ruin the original "classicness" of a band's earlier work. Such an outlook allows me to continue to jam Metallica's early work.

Also, I think the "harsh" vocals on the orignal Feel Good Drag were anything but, and his aggressive voice is best suited to the style found on songs like Self-Starter and Little Tyrants.

8 years ago when this came out, Sowing Season was my favorite track. Then it fell way behind Jesus and Limousine.

Now it's climbed back onto a level playing field with those two tracks. Weird. I guess time is cyclical.

A 4.0 is acceptable. But any lower and I recommend to Deviant banning you for life! ; )
