The Final Word on the whole situation with their ivy league education
like it's not even the people who hate vampire weekend because they went to columbia that annoy me
(although, trust me, they really fucking do) as much as the fact that there's no possible
fucking way you can review vampire weekend without your first paragraph being devoted to The Whole
Story w/r/t not only their columbia education but also the blogosphere's reaction to it (see: me/my
review).
admittedly it makes the band slightly more fun/interesting to talk about but still, enough is enough
(edit: then again, it could easily be argued that the band not only perpetuates this but also basks
in it)

i kind of agree with you robertsona in that i think a lot of people who explicitly hate this band make this weird, out-of-their-way exception in criticizing them, even when they aren't interested in this type of music at all, and ridiculing the whole vampire weekend package the blogosphere has perpetuated. with that said though, their s/t rules all over this records face.
