Drags nowhere, imo. Every moment feels gorgeous and vital. A true masterpiece imo and "Printemps" is one of the best songs ever made

There is something to this album that makes me feel terribly nostalgic for my childhood. It's so beautiful and dreamy and pristine...Definitely my favorite by Alcest.

Problem with this album is they forgot to include bass frequencies. It might even be a worse offender than Ride's Nowhere.

T/t gives me goosebumps with those harmonizing guitars toward the end

Bumped my rating. Alcest were the first band I know of to blend aspects of black metal with dream pop. They do it so beautifully.

They are considered the pioneers of "Blackgaze" but I'm sure people would love to argue that.

At least they are way closer to it than Deafheaven, so calling Neige a pioneer of the genre is not the worst thing you can do

I'd argue there 2nd album was more "blackgaze". This is dream pop with a slight bm influence. The 2nd album is more bm. Deafheaven are not even shoegaze. They are post rock + screamo + black metal. They have more in common with bands like explosions in the sky than my bloody valentine.
