Something about Hull's vocals and lyrics I find grating on that one, it's fine enough musically though

It's probably my favorite track of theirs to sing.

Ok so I've only heard this and Simple Math and this is better in every single way possible.

Simple Math's t/t, Virgin and Leaky Brakes are all-time tho

but yeah A Black Mile is better than this, and everything else they've ever done

No clue. But good looking out because I always play this on road trips and I'm headed out on one tomorrow. Will have to put it on my phone.

Guess it's time for me to get this on CD, album is slightly hit-or-miss for me but "I Can Barely Breathe," "Sleeper 1972," and "Colly Strings" are more than worth owning a physical copy

Alice and Interiors is the only song I don't love but it's still pretty good.

Wolves at Night is one of my favorite opening tracks of all time.

If I’ve never listened to these guys, is starting here (and continuing chronologically) a good entry point?

First time listening to these guys. Fantastic album. The back half tapers off a bit for me, but I think that’s partly due to how amazing and frontloaded the first half is. Where Have You Been/I Can Barely Breathe is the centerpiece of the album, holy fuck shitballs. Fantastic, fantastic songs.

Can’t wait to go through the rest of their discog.

Colly Strings is the best song on the second half, just speaking in general.

That said, what is it that people have against Alice and Interiors? Reading back a few pages it seems it’s the one song people don’t like. I actually like it and don’t think it’s even the worst on the album (the two songs I’m not really into yet are The Neighborhood and Don’t Let them See you Cry).

This album is great. May bump to a 4.5.

And damn, I Can Barely Breathe is so good. Do they have songs later in their discog that actually surpass this song?
