Pop? Would you rather see them recycling the same stuff over and over again for 25 years? They did make their sound much less agressive, but still released great stuff like Youthanasia, Countdown To Extinction, and superb songs like Trust and She-Wolf. Not to mention they've been kickass since The System Has Failed. Take Sleepwalker, Washington is Next!, Burnt Ice and Kick The Chair, for instance

Risk was a bad album, but almost everything else Megadeth has released at least scrapped the bottom of the barrel in terms of goodness. Slayer, despite their inconsitent sound, are so inconsitent actual quality-wise it's hard to listen to their newer stuff at times.
